MB ON TOUR: STMNT SUMMIT

WE JOINED THE CO-CREATORS OF STMNT FOR THEIR ANNUAL #STMNTSUMMIT IN HAMBURG FOR A GLOBAL CELEBRATION OF MODERN GROOMING

International barbers came together for two days of education, networking, and inspiration at Studio Gleis 7, Hamburg, for the annual STMNT Summit, and this year Global Creators Julius Arriola (Julius Cvesar), Sofie Pok (Staygold) and Miguel Gutierrez (Nomad Barber) asked STMNT ambassadors to consider the question ‘What Does Barbering Mean To You?’. Led by host Kevin Luchmun, attendees were encouraged to participate and share their stories of modern barbering and what it means to them, before their stories were then interpreted into a piece of artwork, that will feature on an upcoming STMNT product launch.

The gathering of the STMNT community on day one was an opportunity to share ideas, stories and experiences, all whilst celebrating the culture and lifestyle of barbering. Barbers flew in from countries all over the globe including the USA, Portugal, Poland, Spain, Belgium, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Director of Crate Cheshire, Charles Rose, was in attendance for the UK. Katharina Bullach aka Cat and Klaudia Ciesielska joined Kevin on stage to discuss female voices in barbering and their journey so far. The STMNT ambassadors were wowed by Kevin Boon’s spectacular showcase, The Story of Jan, before Julius Cvesar, Staygold and Nomad Barber closed the show. Each of the STMNT co-creators demonstrated one of three new products and their personal connection to the new line.

We spoke to Charles, who shared with us his experience over the two days, commenting: “I had the best time at the STMNT Summit. It was the perfect opportunity to meet the rest of the STMNT family and get together to share the love for our craft, discuss trends and ideas as well as helping to produce the new artwork for this year’s Artist Edition.”

On day two the barbers were given the unique opportunity to be mentored by the STMNT cocreators, each styling their own model under their guidance. “Over the two days, I felt we really got to know the brand, the products and each other more,” Charles added. “We were all able to learn from each other and collaborate which is what makes our industry great. Hamburg was an awesome place for the Summit, and I am really looking forward to the next one.”
