BARBERING CHAMPIONS
RAW TALENT COMPETITION
For the first time, the Raw Talent Competition, brought to you by Modern Barber and Mike Taylor Education, took place at Salon International this year. Across Sunday 15 and Monday 16 October, judges Mike Taylor, Ian Harrold, Alex Burt, and Bethan Brennan got up close and personal with the entries and were amazed with the skills on show.
Split into three categories of barbering abilities and training standard – Student, Graduate, and Post Graduate – there was a maximum of six finalists in each category.

SNAP! COMPETITION
The brand-new SNAP! Competition brought to you by HJ and Salon International, was introduced at Salon International 2023 where winners were announced live on stage by Jayne Lewis-Orr.
SNAP! was created to give all hair professionals of any skill level, anywhere in the world, the opportunity to showcase their talent through one picture, shot on a phone with strictly no filters and no editing.
The prize for the winners of SNAP! 2023 included being featured in HJ, the opportunity to be a Spotlight Artist at Salon International 2024, and a complimentary ticket to the British Hairdressing Awards 2023.
