STEFAN CLARK TALKS TIMELESS SILHOUETTES, EXPANDING HIS CREATIVE VISION, AND THE FUTURE OF MEN’S GROOMING…
I’m fascinated by the old-school gang and mob aesthetic, which carries a certain effortless cool. From slicked-back, sharp edges to longer, brushed-back styles with a glossy, greased finish, these looks never truly go out of fashion.
SIX THINGS THAT ARE INSPIRING ME RIGHT NOW
FASHION
Fashion and hair go hand in hand. Designers like Ralph Lauren and Giorgio Armani have mastered the balance between formal and casual and I think that translates into modern barbering as well. Today’s hair trends reflect that – softer, natural styles that maintain a clean, classic edge.
EVOLUTION OF NATURAL HAIR
I’m really drawn to the shift towards more natural, lived-in hairstyles. It’s about working with the hair rather than forcing it into something it doesn’t want to be. Cleaner, softer textures and effortlessly styled looks are where it’s at for me – it feels modern, fresh, and in tune with where men’s grooming is headed.
Diverse Influences
Recently, I’ve had the chance to work with people from different backgrounds, particularly those embracing bold, structured Mexican-inspired hairstyles. Seeing how different cultures approach men’s grooming was massively inspiring – it introduced me to a whole new side of barbering and expanded my creative vision.
MY HOMETOWN
Being from the north, I’ve always been surrounded by a certain style of barbering. Shorter haircuts like hard cropped fringes and high skin fades are popular here. There’s something raw and aggressive about these styles, but they showcase real skill and technique. I think it’s important to keep elements of traditional barbering, and these haircuts have always been a staple where I’m from.
90s Britpop Scene
Celebrities have always been style icons and musicians are a huge source of inspiration for me. I’m into the 90s Britpop look – those effortlessly cool, timeless haircuts. Long sideburns, cropped fringes, they’re styles that always look modern while carrying a rebellious energy.
ITALIAN CULTURE
Growing up in an Italian family, I’ve always been drawn to Italy’s culture, particularly its fashion and menswear. That traditional, classic look, sharp tailoring and timeless silhouettes has always resonated with me.
