THE NHBF HAS GOT YOUR BACK

It’s been a tough time, but the National Hair and Beauty Federation (NHBF) is dedicated to ensuring the industry can survive and grow in the future.

As the barbering industry emerges from one of the most challenging times in recent history, the NHBF is there for its Members. “We have welcomed many new Members since the lockdown who we’ve been able to support with information, resources and advice across a wide range of issues, from the furlough scheme and business finances to surviving and thriving post-lockdown,” says NHBF chief executive Hilary Hall.

AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE INDUSTRY

The not-for-profit organisation has received many heartfelt thanks from its Members, including longstanding Member Darran Gould of Gould Barbers, an industry success story with 34 barbershops across the country.

DARRAN GOULD

Darran says: “At the beginning of our rapid expansion, we wanted to find an organisation that would be able to guide us during our journey. Since joining the NHBF we have built a fantastic relationship with them knowing they are at the forefront of our industry. This really has been highlighted during this terrible pandemic, as we know the NHBF have been working very closely with the government and pushing them all the way in order to get our industry thriving again.”

DON’T MISS OUT

Members of the NHBF can take advantage of a huge range of invaluable benefits, including access to the knowledgeable membership team for everyday business advice as well as a free 24/7 legal helpline for trickier business-related matters.

“Our legal experts can help with both commercial and HR issues, offering clear and practical advice that will ensure you stay within the law and can sort things out as quickly and efficiently as possible,” says Hilary. Find out more: nhbf.co.uk/legal-advice

EMPLOYMENT, CHAIR RENTING AND APPRENTICES

Members can use the NHBF’s free employment contracts, apprenticeship agreements and staff handbooks (nhbf.co.uk/ contracts) as well as free chair renting agreements: nhbf.co.uk/ agreements.

“These legally watertight documents off of mind if you have employees, apprentices or chair renters, and they will save you the cost of paying a legal expert to draw them up too,” says Hilary.

HEALTH & SAFETY

“Our Members can access everything they need, from health & safety guides and fact sheets to discounted insurance and H&S toolkits,” explains Hilary. “We also have a free health & safety helpline to cover in-depth issues.” Find out more: nhbf.co.uk/hs-advice

ALWAYS THERE FOR YOU

NHBF Members can request a free 15-minute business coaching phone call from an industry expert every year and can benefit from special fixed-rate support on an ongoing basis. Members can also take advantage of discounted services, use free templates and policies, including for GDPR and complaints, and have free access to the NHBF’s 24/7 tax, VAT and payroll helpline.

“I cannot stress enough how important and useful it is to join the NHBF,” adds Darran of Gould Barbers.

The NHBF offers a range of business support services for barbershops, from legal, employment and financial guidance to expert advice for managing people and boosting your business. To find out more head to: www.nhbf.co.uk/join
