Tariq Howes is one of the most talked about names in the barbering industry right now.

In the past few years, this afro hair specialist from Cardiff has made waves with his work in barbering and men’s fashion.

Tariq is one of BaByliss PRO’s frontmen, and will be headlining their brand new space at Barber Connect this year, giving audiences a taste of his signature work. Coming from a mixed background of Welsh, Egyptian, Somali and Jamaican, Tariq has been inspired to be diverse in all hair types and textures which has awarded him industry accolades and attention throughout his career.

Right now, Tariq’s working week can be anything from working backstage at shows like Hugo Boss, Vetements or Fred Perry, to working with his celebrity clientele like Anthony Joshua or Liam Payne. He also spends a lot of his time working with regular clients at his shop in Cardiff where he mentors a team of young barbers.

Also headlining the BaByliss PRO stand is Pete Cranfield, who has been a part of the BaByliss PRO team for several years. Formerly known as Cutthroat Pete, the last few years has seen Pete transform and rebrand himself into one of the industry’s most respected barbers.

Based at a new space in Liverpool, Pete is known for his expert haircuts and meticulous maintenance of the tools he works with. For barbers who are looking for advice about changing or aligning blades, cleaning tools, zero gappinghead to Pete for his tips and tricks.

Pete rose through the industry ranks and became known for cutting the hair of some of the biggest names in footballwho are still Pete’s regular clients. He’s also known for his incredible closecut work using fading expertise and creativity that allows him to work freely on longer styles, proving that modern barbers can enhance their male haircutting game by learning hairdressing skills.
