BRIGHTON BOUND
Brighton is the destination for the festival of barbering, as Barberfest returns to town and the Modern Barber Awards give us all reason to celebrate
SUNDAY 10 JULY
Following its hugely successful launch last year, Barberfest is an experiential event that will return to its Brighton home on Sunday, 10th July and features two live stages, a live competition arena for Freshers to Post-Graduates, and an array of barbering and male grooming brands who will be launching the latest innovations and showcasing the very best in tools, kit, trends and techniques. From freelance barbers, to new teams and established names in the industry, Barberfest was developed by listening to what you want – an event that is dedicated to the barbering craft.
The day offers a unique blend of learning, inspiration, brand immersion and networking, with the evening dedicated to celebrating the best in the barbering business, the teams and individuals who are leading from the front.
“Barberfest 2021 did so much for our industry, being the first live event in nearly two years, it inspired and motivated the industry both new and old and I felt privileged to be part of it, because it was the first time our tribe was back together. Because of that, it did so much for the mental health of our industry too!’ said Tom Chapman, founder of the Lions Barber Collective.
“BARBERFEST WAS THE ULTIMATE BARBER GETAWAY, A LOVELY WEEKEND IN BRIGHTON CATCHING UP WITH FELLOW BARBERS.”
The Modern Barber Stage will educate and inspire as teams share the latest learnings, trends and techniques, whilst the Business Learning Stage will focus on the practical side of running a business. The Raw Talent Barbering Competitions, brought to you by Mike Taylor Education, have categories from Freshers through Graduate to Post Graduate and entry details will be announced online soon.
“Barberfest was the ultimate barber getaway, a lovely weekend in Brighton catching up with fellow barber professionals, networking and learning. The Raw Talent Competition is the perfect platform for students and apprentices to showcase their talents and an opportunity to be discovered,” explains Mike Taylor.
The day will also give you the opportunity to meet existing and new partners with brands exhibiting including Booksy, Wahl, American Crew, VTCT, Savvy Barbers Software, Balmain Hair Couture, NHBF (National Hair & Beauty Federation), Mike Taylor Education, Squire, Salon Supplies, Styling Products Groomers Ltd in association with Andis, Morgans Pomade, Avlon, Barber Josh o.p and Dowa International. Interactive areas include The Clipper Clinic sponsored by Andis and the Tool Shop sponsored by Wahl.
