SHOP FLOOR STEP-BY-STEP

Mr Rizzo London breaks down a long, layered cut that is soft and textured, but egdy at the same time.

THE BEFORE

01 Separate from the crown to the ear and disconnect a triangle section from the top of the ear to the top of the occipital bone. This disconnected area will sit over the new reduced excess weight which is currently too heavy.

02 Clean side burns using scissor over comb technique, but leave it quite soft. Then take a diagonal section and create a shorter under layer. This will support the length on top and give volume.

03 Create an over layer which will tuck behind the ear amd add volume and movement to the profile.

04  Using a finger razor, reduce weight in the back. Cutting with a razor creates a softer texture. Release the disconnected triangle and with the finger razor visually sculpt away any excess weight.

05 Repeat the same process on the other side with the shorter supporting layer and the over layer which tucks behind the ear.

06 Using the finger razor reduce the bulk underneath the occipital bone to create a flatter more masculine silhouette.

07 Next, point cut excess weight on top to soften the outline.

08 Add product such as a wax or clay and blow dry to add volume and hold.
